ROAD TO HOLLOW HILLS

This trailer was commissioned by my brother-in-law, a London-based game designer, for his upcoming game ‘‘Road to Hollow Hills’’.

The game is an adventure and sci-fi horror story about a brother, recently released from prison, who embarks on a quest to find his sister, who is in danger. The trailer is part of the early advertising efforts for the game's launch.

We use Unreal Engine for gameplay and cinematic recording. The project involved addressing challenges with incomplete game elements. We used an AI platform to generate dynamic music tracks, which facilitated the work of the team's musician by providing a solid foundation to build upon, complemented by SFX from Splice. The trailer effectively captured the game's atmosphere, receiving positive feedback from the team with suggestions for additional scenes. The work is still in progress and will continue in a couple of months to further refine the final product.

THE FIRST CLIENT

This project took a straightforward approach with a focus on craft editing over visual effects. I began with a clear concept, structured in the Goodnotes app, and scheduled a production time that suited the chef. The entire shoot was completed in 4-5 hours, though we had to adapt to the arrival of customers, which limited the scenes we could capture. My goal was to create a narrative that was obvious and clear, relying on strong storytelling without the need for special effects or intrusive guidance. The entire sequence was edited in DaVinci Resolve.
